Description and Deliverables

The overall objective is to contribute to the effort to improve the quality of education in the Democratic Republic of Congo, in accordance with the objectives of Education For All and the Millennium Development Goals, by improving the technical and managerial capacity of inspectors through targeted training.
The immediate objective is the strengthening of the capacity of 1.000 inspectors from primary, secondary and vocational education so that they can more effectively perform the tasks of supervision and inspectorial control.

At the end of this training activity, 500 inspectors in post primary and secondary education are able to provide better support to teachers councils and 500 new inspectors have been trained in school inspection methods, evaluation and educational disciplines.

Services
  • Selection of 50 trainers and 1.000 trainees from primary and secondary education level
  • Review of existing training modules and production of documentation.  The existing training modules will be revised to allow consideration of new and innovative teaching approaches. These include training modules for trainers and training of inspectors. Production of documentation concerning regulation of school inspection and to serve as a support to training, and later, the work of trained inspectors.
  • Training workshop for orientation of inspectors and upgrade of skills.
  • Training of 1000 inspectors in new inspectorial techniques and approaches as well as in teaching disciplines and inspectorial practices.
  • Quarterly reports on project implementation to UNESCO, to provide an update on the progress of activities planned under the project.
  • Organisation, monitoring and evaluation of traineeships of the trained inspectors.
