Description and Deliverables

The overall goal of the project is that graduates of the Durres University of Cooperative Education (Akademie Professionale) meet the quality requirements of the labour market.
The project is intervening on three levels; on the level of the Ministry of Education and Science (MoES), the level of Chambers of Commerce and Associations and on the level of the University. The following activities are planned:

Advice to people in charge at the MoES and to the management and teaching staff of the Durres University of Cooperative Education (UCE) for the establishment of an autonomous Akademie Professionale
Analysis of the labour market in selected areas (initially hotel/tourism, banking and construction sectors – then health management, transport and logistics, information and communication technology)
Development of curricula, jointly with representatives of the economy
Qualification of teaching staff of the university, aligned to labour market demands and modern training standards

Furthermore, enterprises, chambers and associations will be advised in regard to the practical part of the training. In cooperation with the university, chambers and associations, adequate companies will be identified and exposed to this new form of higher secondary education. The development and implementation of a sustainable financing model for the UCE, including legal regulations for a Private-Public-Partnership in the vocational training at an UCE, belong to the overarching achievements of the project.
