The Project aims to establish an effective and sustainable teacher education system for primary education. The Project has four components: (i) building the institutional capacity of the National Center for Educational Development, primary teacher training centers, and Distance Education Center to train primary school teachers by developing staff skills and improving facilities; (ii) developing teacher education curriculum and teaching-learning materials; (iii) training teachers, and educational administrators and managers; and (iv) educating teachers to better serve the needs of girls and other disadvantaged groups.
