Description and Deliverables

Three main topics are targeted by the project, in particular:

(I) Improving the quality and relevance of the VET system through the implementation of a national reform, which include the development of national qualifications system

Setting up the bodies needed for VET reform
Labour market needs analysis
National Workshop on Labour Market needs assessment
Development of occupational standards
Development of training standards
Set up of a National Qualifications System
Seminar for official launching of the NQS
Revision of existing curricula
Develop Lifelong learning concept for Turkey
Final National conference to present the strategy for dissemination of VET reform

(II) Strengthening institutional capacity at national, regional and local level of public administration, social partners' representatives and companies

Quality assurance system
School principals training, Teacher training
Role of social partners in VET governance
National conference on social partnership organised

(III) Speeding up the process of decentralisation of the system

Public information campaign
National Conference for launching of the programme
Managing function in decentralised VET systems
Strengthening the decentralised approach to VET system governance
Yearly seminars organised by the 6 ICUs to inform public on achievements of the programme
Empowering schools and their managers to promote a decentralised VET system
