Description and Deliverables

The overall project objective is to reinforce the protection and realisation of individual rights in the Russian Federation. The project partner is the MFHR - the All Russian Public Movement "For Human Rights". In this respect, the project provides consultancy services in the following areas:

Strengthening of legal capacity for the Regional Legislative Framework, incl. transferring knowledge and know how on legal advice techniques; provision of legal advice to individual citizens, TA in filing complaints to courts and tribunals and creation of a "rapid reaction" team of lawyers to manage especially gross individual rights violations
Active legal assistance support to regional individual rights NGOs for their activities, optimisation of the interaction between federal and regional NGOs, twinning activities
Developing Lobbying and Liaising Capacities of FHR with State Bodies at all Levels, undertake and participate in individual and collective individual rights promotion missions and actions
Assist in Human Resource Development and Training, incl. set-up of seminars `Summer and Winter Schools' for NGOs, develop higher level interaction with schools and universities, execute human rights training
Network Strengthening: set up of a strong network of MFHR partners and further human rights NGOs, make their experience human rights issues cumulative and transferable
Material production and publishing, incl. MFHR newsletter, materials and methodological recommendations on individual rights for NGOs, NGOs directories and surveys on regional NGOs etc.
Set-up and continuous updating of the database on regional human rights NGOs, incl. the web site and an archiving system on the activities of regional NGOs
Information and dissemination: incl. disseminate of project results to other NGOs, support to the annual congresses of the regional NGOs, improvement of the MFHR website

Assistance to specific human rights issues, part. the set up of the rapid reaction group, managing complaints to courts etc.
