The restructuring activities of the local electrical company included:

Improving financial controls, including budgeting system, costing system, internal control system, financial planning system and management accounting system.
Improving human resource systems, including training, better defined roles and responsibilities leading to a more effective organisation structure, developing job descriptions, implementing appraisal system, management & supervisory skills improvement, etc.
Development of quality management systems, including the implementation to meet international standards ISO9000 and ISO14001 and the development of a continuous improvement culture.
Manufacturing improvements, including better factory layout, better maintenance management and housekeeping, relocation of stores, better materials handling, implementation of mechanical design system and product kiting system.
Improvements in the Marketing and Sales functions to provide better market research, develop a marketing plan, develop an internet web site, creation of a sales department, develop a customer survey and develop an after sales strategy.
Improvements in the Information Technology, both software and hardware - including purchasing, inventory control, payroll, production planning, plant maintenance, capacity planning, WIP system, sales management, upgrading of the network between the factory and the office, install new server, etc.

Implementation of the actions identified in the Business Plan . Among the activities executed can be mentioned:

Capacity building : needs assessment, training and coaching of staff
Institutional development: Advice to development of the quality management system, network establishment
Functional improvement: management and marketing strategy development
management of equipment procurement, from planning to installation
