Description and Deliverables

The overall objective was twofold: to promote the development of the public educational system at federal, regional and local level responding to the needs of society in the areas of applied economics, business administration, law teaching, vocational education and training, and to increase the access to education through improved open and distance learning.

The program focussed in particular on the analysis and development of the demand side. A second important aim of the DELPHI project was to enhance the co-operation between authorities and education institutes at federal, regional and local levels.

The DELPHI program consisted of four Components:

Strengthening of educational management and development
Teaching of economics, business administration and law
Vocational Training
Development of open and distance learning for dissemination of educational programs.

Team leader input, overall project management in the field
Component leader for component I and IV
Short term experts for concept and strategy development related to establishing partnership between authorities, education institutes and economic structures
Policy advice on institutional building, education management and financing
Design of Vocational education programmes and curricula development, strategies for standardisation of curricula
Regional network establishment and Information dissemination centre for teachers and authors and publications
Development of database for vocational education
Design of open and distance learning system
Execution of conferences, workshops and study tours
