Description and Deliverables

Support to the Kyrgyz government in developing a master plan in the fields of education and training to meet the requirements of a market economy. To this end a TA team of seven international experts was use in the field. They carried out in-depth reviews of the entire current education and training systems covering all relevant sub-sectors, including basic and higher education, vocational training, non-formal and adult education, distance education as well as education policies. Based on the reviews, strategic recommendations and project outlines were developed by the TA team in order to prepare the ground for further action, including curriculum revision and re-training of teachers.

The basic education specialist and the distance education specialist provided by ABU Consult conducted reviews of their respective fields. In doing so they were liaising with the Kyrgyz counterparts. They provided detailed recommendations on how to make the respective sub-sector more efficient and prepared outlines of feasible projects
